The Life of an E-Mail Campaign

5:46 am in Announcements by Jason

For those of you that pay for advertisements, you know that they can be effective, even if for a few short time.  What does a typical burst of traffic look like, anyway?

Here’s a snapshot on a little startup site I am helping out on.  My uncle runs a restaurant and wanted to know exactly how effective his campaigns were.  He had no idea, he was just paying for traffic without measuring it.

This is a very typical chart.

Sellebrity Announces eBay Listing Manager

10:02 pm in Announcements by Jason

[ March 1, 2010 ] – Today, Sellebrity Company unveiled 1-Page Lister 2.0, a comprehensive selling tool for online sellers. The new tool is web-based and enables eBay sellers to manage images, create professional-looking listings, and automate tasks such as e-mail and feedback.

The new listing software is fully integrated with Sellebrity Analytics, launched in October 2009. Sellebrity claims to track over 250,000 eBay listings already.  Sellebrity’s CEO says this release is just one step of several planned that will help to add new dimensions to selling and keep the product offering unique.

A Sellebrity tool that has become very popular is called “Spy.” With Spy, a seller can monitor buyer click patterns as they hop across listings, and can see every item transaction occur in real time. Repeat buyers are shown by full name and contact information, as opposed to an IP address.

Sellebrity is offering Listing Manager in beta test to new and existing Sellebrity customers at no cost, with introductory limits of 20MB and 20 listings per month. On April 15, the free plan of 20 listings per month will remain in effect, and upgrades will start at $8.99 monthly. All plans, both free and paid, will include the Analytics package for no additional fee.

The analytics service may still be purchased separately from the Listing Manager at regular prices and the website will be relocated to a sub-domain later this month.

Sellebrity’s experience as an eBay developer goes back to 1999. The Sellebrity founders received media attention with an auction search tool, which led to development of the Lister. Sellebrity claims to have coined the term “One Page Lister” in 2004 and today, the one-page format is an industry benchmark.

A full online demonstration is available for browsing on the Sellebrity website, with no obligation to join or submit an application. Interested sellers can page through the application and quickly determine whether the production is a candidate for their needs.

Sellebrity Launches Mobile Apps for iPhone, Android

Sellebrity has unveiled a mobile support application for all large-screen mobile devices. Now, all eBay Listings can be tracked across multiple eBay accounts, all right from your iPhone or iPad, or any similar mobile device.

“This launch is to prepare for the upcoming iPad craze,” says the Sellebrity development team. “As the global trend of access to information anywhere anytime continues, Sellebrity Mobile fits right in. Real-time analytics meets mobile flexibility. The utility simplifies the process of checking on orders by the eliminating annoying searches and multiple accounts. Sellebrity Mobile will separately track all visitors and revenue for up to 6 eBay UserId with one login. It will also track other sites you add, such as your store site or blog.”

Just like Sellebrity, the mobile interface is clean and simple. It is designed for that on-the-go seller. The iPhone version even includes a its own Spy mode, which streams pageviews and other actions LIVE as they are happening on your web site. If you get more than a few thousand visitors per day, you can sit for hours and watch people use your web site live. It’s a lot of fun and great to have that feature on the go.

Sellebrity Mobile is entirely FREE for ALL users. And, Free Usage Plan for the Sellebrity Analytics service itself has been changed to be free for anyone running fifty (50) listings or less concurrently.  So, you can sell hundreds of listings per month and still use the service for free.  Upgrades are available starting at 125 concurrent listings for $4.99 per month.

All future Sellebrity products will be integrated with our Mobile Apps.  ”Getting started with Sellebrity today is a great way to take advantage of more best-in-class e-commerce products on the road map for 2010,” notes J. Ritenour, founder and CEO.

First Week Launch Status

6:53 pm in Announcements by Jason

Hi all,

The first week of Sellebrity was a great success and we already have a few hundred members in just a few days… pass the word! We haven’t asked for any money yet as we want to make sure it is all working okay.

We have a random selection of people in the Demo Site, and it is looking really good.

Gotchas

We are grabbing listings 60 days out, but I think we need to go all the way out to 356 days. It is now set (Comments welcome, I want to make sure we are tagging GTC listings).

The graphical interface is working great, but there were some little snafus with tagging: –> About 1% of people who list in crafts, such as vases and clay pots, were unable to get “tagged” because eBay would not let us tag that category, even if we removed the entire 10-word tagline.

So we are going to call eBay about that. The error was:

The item cannot be listed or modified. The title and/or description may contain improper words, or the listing or seller may be in violation of eBay policy.

Also here is one we get often, it is not a bug, but you should know about it.

Failed to modify description. Description content cannot be modified while there are pending best offers.

And remember you cannot modify listings that are going to end within 12 hours.

Bugs

Right now you can’t change your password, or pay.  :-)

Upcoming features:

  • Password change :-)
  • Payment buttons :-)
  • A way to ADD NEW Userid’s or websites, and merge them into your main Dashboard
  • Automatic insertion into the user forum, so you won’t have to keep posting “guest” messages.

Please let us know if you see any other issues by posting in “Support” forum or posting below, thanks.
